Reinvest, Reinvest, Reinvest…
Most of the income I earn through my web sites, I reinvest back into my business, so as my income increases, so do my outgoings. But… at the same time, I am building my portfolio of Internet Properties.
I tend pay myself enough money to live on each month and also teach guitar part time, partly for the extra cash and partly because I enjoy meeting new people and getting out into the real world. Working full time online can be pretty lonley sometimes.
I dont tend to buy fancy things for myself and only spend my money on the necessities of life. I also reinvest most of my income back into my business for my future.
I figure the only way to build a profitable business, (for me, anyway) is to reinvest most of the income I earn, back into it. This way I am building a solid income for my future and not just throwing money up the wall on the latest fancy gizmos, clothers, cars, and holidays etc.
Some of my current expenses are:
Writers for my niche sites,
Traffic Assistants - To help build me backlinks, branding and traffic
Subscriptions Services and courses (You have to keep learning)
Dedicated Server - Helps keep the costs down running multiple sites
Autoresponder
Product Research - Buying software, ebooks and other products
Telephone/ Internet
Wages
Buying domain names
Fortunately I dont need much of an advertising budget as my main sites tend to get most of their traffic through organic Google searches. This is the area I tend to focus on the most when building up a niche site.
So, the motto from me today is to reinvest a large portion of your income back into building your business. It may take 2-5 years to build up your portfolio, but it will be worth it in the end.
Thats the way I look at it anyway. Maybe you think differently and I'd be interested to know your thoughts.
