First Video Blog
I have finally worked out how to use my new Camcorder! Its High Definition and the post production part is fairly tricky. The picture doesn't look that great on youtube as I have compressed it, but I guess I need to play around with the settings before I can start to produce high quality videos.

Think I said 'really appreciate it' too many times
Lol
Hi
It's a good video, you'll get better and better over time, Cam's good quality, very clear. A good idea is to make a few video's first then select the best one for your blog post. A lot of other bloggers do that.

Great job Gavin. I hope to jump on the bandwagon as well.
Good job! You appear relaxed and very natural.
Look forward to the next video.
Yay vlogging! I thought the quality was pretty good. :]
Thanks for the feedback everyone! Glad I look relaxed
I didn't feel too relaxed when I was doing it, but guess that will get easier over time.
Hey Man, like the video very clear, got to say thanks for you informative posts.
Cheers
Nice video, I'm sure they will get easier with time. I've bought a webcam and and planning on using it for onemansgoal.com in addition to the text the team writers are producing. Video is the future. Think about the average reader. Most likely they have finished up a day at work or school and come home and make and eat dinner. By the time they get there computer its 7 o'clock and if like me, 3-4 beers deep. They want the infomation but they don't want to read it they want to watch it. I know I do. I find myself going to http://www.jasonmoffatt.com once or twice a day waiting to watch the videos he puts up. After waiting five days at a time for a new video, I decided I'm going to make some myself. Best of luck, make it happen.
Hey Gavin, Nice work with the camera! The lighting is good (using natural lighting, right?), but you might want to add a "key light" on the non-window side of your face to reduce the shadows. You don't need to spend a lot of money on it, just get something simple like a battery powered camping lantern. Then you can adjust the amount of light on you by moving the light closer or further away.
I know this is among your first video shoots, so it's likely that you'll get more comfortable with it the more you do - right now you look a bit stiff (lol - I know this is the *opposite* of what other people said). You look *good*, but stiff.
Let some of the excitement you have about the subject show through.
I put up a new video over the weekend (at http://www.thecompletemarketer.com/buying-leads-sucks/) and in that one I go out of my way to be animated. I'm not nearly as photogenic as you, and I may look a little (or maybe a lot) goofy in this one, but I don't think anyone would accuse me of being bored. Showing that you're engaged with the subject will help hold your audience. Hope that helps! -Roger
Heck, I know I'm WAY nervous now. I was asked to do a video testimonial and guess what - it will be my first too!
Crap - I'm going to have to "actually" get dressed for this and get out of my PJ's! lol
Any tips? I was considering a Valium! I'M TEASING!
But seriously, any tips on how you came across so natural?
Hi Lisa,
Lol, yeah, getting out of those PJ's might be a problem, thats the good thing about working at home
Natural? Did you think I looked natural, well Im glad you did because I didn't feel too natural. Im hoping to loosen up a bit in my next few videos so I dont look rigid.
Then again, I guess people dont know me personally, so I appear natural.
Thanks for the comment!
